From Tim in a round about way

Posted by LoganAvatar @ 11:30 AM

So, Tim sent me a link to the "Best of 2006" on iFilm, and looking through it, I saw this interview on the people's court. One word describes this strange video.

Mustache.

So, yeah, saw this on Engadget, but thought I would link to it anyways. The funniest part for me was the sparks and the "damage control" that the team does by bringing out a partition to hide it when people had already saw it go bad.

For your next Movie Night.

Posted by LoganAvatar @ 11:47 AM

I don't know how I could have missed this one, Dracula: Dead and Loving It. You would have thought working in a video store for a couple years would have introduced me to this, but I haven't ever heard of it. Which brings me to my real question, what happened to Mel Brooks making good movies? If you take away "The Producers", which i have yet to see, and "Robin Hood: Men in Tights", which I thought was fun but not great, Mel hasn't been in/made a good movie since "Spaceballs"! That is 20 years! Here is to hoping the new "Get Smart" is a great movie.

- Mike D

P.S. I guess i forgot about the awesomeness that was "Look Who's Talking Too" (1990) ... but I am sure Mel wants to forget that

Bill Gates for prez?

Posted by LoganAvatar @ 12:50 PM

I guess this has been on slashdot already, but i figured I would post anyways. Bill Gates for President! I am kind of torn on this, On one hand, I think he is a little sneaky and tries to crush the competition in unethical ways (IE anyone?). On the other hand, I think he is smart enough to make good, rational, and fiscally responsible decisions. Oh, and Scott Adams (of Dilbert) weighs in.

crazy video

Posted by LoganAvatar @ 1:19 PM

Apparently, the city of Manchester installed bollards in order to keep drivers from using the transit lanes. You can see how it works from the Manchester bollard video. From the YouTube comments:

I live in Manchester and they have big signs up,in red, no entry except buses. I have no sympathy whatsoever. Idiots.

and

I love this. But now they are being banned for health and safety. Who cares. Its called natural selection.

Yeah, personally, if there are really big red signs, I think these people got what they deserve (except the kid in the back of his idiot parents' car).

From Tim

Posted by LoganAvatar @ 10:20 AM

Got this from Tim today: Blind Models in India. India is very biased against the handycapped, but one line in particular struck Tim and I as funny.

The young women ? who applied their own make up and dressed themselves ?

Yeah, you read that right, the blind people dressed and applied their own makeup. Shocking that only 200 people showed up.

Rated E!

Posted by LoganAvatar @ 12:48 PM

So apparently, there was a tshirt that said Your Mom Rated E for Everyone, and had the ESRB "E" logo and format. In my opinion, this was a little juvenile but heck, it made me smile, although it probably wasn't funny enough to blog about.

Well, now the ESA, who owns the "Trademark" and has apparently never heard of "Parody" or "Satire", has sent a C&D letter to not even the people who made the shirt, but to Kotaku, a gamer news blog.

God bless lawyers?

Further proof that McSweeney's Lists are always good

Posted by LoganAvatar @ 12:26 PM

If you like (or don't) McSweeny's, check out I'm Starting to Suspect That a Dungeons and Dragons Player Named "Elgdorf the Mage" Is Abusing His Wikipedia Editorial Privileges. I enjoyed the first "Entry"

[Miles Davis's] "rebirth of the cool" style was second only to Elgdorf the Mage's (34 charisma points as of August 2006).

Posted by LoganAvatar @ 11:41 AM

Use Google, but please don't "google", meaning they don't want their trade name "Google" to become a noun that is used for running any type of search.... but I really enjoyed their example.

'Appropriate: I ran a Google search to check out that guy from the party.

'Inappropriate: I googled that hottie.'
